AUDITION NOTICE

Barksdale Theatre at Hanover Tavern announces open auditions for Shirley Valentine and Driving Miss Daisy. Both shows will be presented at Barksdale Theatre’s Hanover Tavern location. All roles are open and actors will be paid.

Auditions will be held Monday, May 19 from 7 pm until 9 pm at Barksdale Theatre’s Willow Lawn location, 1601 Willow Lawn Drive in Richmond.

No appointments necessary. Auditionees should come prepared to read from the scripts.

Shirley Valentine by Willie Russell will run at Barksdale Theatre’s Hanover Tavern location from July 11 through August 24. Barksdale is looking for one woman who can play a 42-year-old British housewife who goes to Greece to rediscover adventure and romance.

Driving Miss Daisy by Alfred Uhry will run at Barksdale Theatre’s Hanover Tavern location from September 19 through October 26. Barksdale is looking for one Caucasian woman who can play a Southern lady age 72 to 97, one African American man who can play her chauffeur, age 60 to 85, and one Caucasian man who can play her son, age 40 to 65.

Tired of “Corporate America”? As a nationally acclaimed non-profit theater company, with $5.2 million annual budget, we are seeking a Controller to assume the day-to-day accounting functions. This is not your average Controller position. Theatre IV offers a relaxed, comfortable work environment, and a creative atmosphere. Stuffed shirts need not apply.

The ideal candidate will be a CPA with a minimum of 5 years experience in all areas of accounting including preparation of financial statements. Strong computer skills and attention to detail are required along with a desire for non-profit accounting. No phone calls.
